What Does P0172 Mean?
The P0172 code indicates that Bank 1 of your engine is running rich - there's too much fuel compared to air in the combustion mixture.
Rich vs Lean
Unlike P0171 (too lean), P0172 means excess fuel is being added. This wastes gas and can damage the catalytic converter over time.
