P0700 is commonly used to indicate that the transmission control system has requested the check-engine light. It may not tell you which internal transmission fault was detected.
A scanner that can access the transmission module may reveal additional codes and data. Record those results before clearing codes, and avoid hard acceleration if shifting becomes unpredictable.
