To understand trailer lights that work intermittently, compare it under normal, safe conditions: cold versus warm, idle versus steady speed, and light versus higher load. Record which lights fail and whether bumps, rain, or plug movement changes them. Change one condition at a time so the result stays useful.
Do not create a risky test just to reproduce it. Inspect the plug, ground, corrosion, and trailer wiring with both vehicles switched off.
