To understand only part of the rear window defrosts, compare it under normal, safe conditions: cold versus warm, idle versus steady speed, and light versus higher load. Mark the area that clears and note whether the warning light or timer behaves normally. Change one condition at a time so the result stays useful.
Do not create a risky test just to reproduce it. Inspect grid lines and connector tabs visually; avoid scraping or probing the glass.
