Write down every code, its status, the module that reported it, and any freeze-frame data. If the scan tool shows readiness monitors or live data, save those too.
Clearing a code can erase useful context and reset some monitors. Clear codes only when you understand why you are doing it, then verify the repair using the correct drive cycle and service information.
