The anti-lock function and the base hydraulic braking system are related but distinct. Read the vehicle's warning description.

An ABS warning can mean that anti-lock braking assistance is unavailable, while normal braking may remain; the owner's manual explains what applies to that car. A red brake warning or a change in pedal feel raises a different level of concern.

Have the system scanned with equipment that can read the ABS module. If braking feels abnormal or multiple brake warnings appear, stop safely and get qualified help.

Quick educational note

For information, not a diagnosis or repair instruction. Vehicle-specific checks are still required. Consult the manufacturer's guidance and a qualified technician.
